DOG’S LIFE IN SERBIA PART II POUNDS SHELTERS
Dog’s pounds in Serbia „shelters““
Once caught by dogcatchers, homeless dogs end up in “shelters”, more likely concentration camps, where they die from diseases, hunger, neglect and cruelty of their keepers. Entrance is in the most of them forbidden, although they are public utilities. Taking photos is forbidden. The chain of corruption is the reason for this situation. The workers are mostly uneducated and have neither empathy, nor understanding. The management also. They are there, to use endless options of sucking budgeted income for accommodation of homeless animals. The costs for food , veterinary costs, equipment, vehicles, all costs are pumped up, while poor dogs die from hunger. Finally, in spite of the law, which forbids euthanasia, they kill them and open the door for new victims. The Group for animal welfare, formed at Veterinary directorate, where members are mostly veterinarians, hypocritically have no objections. All is fine as long as they can stay on their well paid positions. Pretend to do something while doing nothing- is their moto. That’s why situation hasn’t changed for decades. Millions are spent , just to disappear in private pockets. Citizens pay, dogs die and the image of humane country is further and further away.
Arms of honest animal welfare organizations are firmly tight , system does not function, they can only spread the horrible truth. Those , pro government organizations „“drink coffee““ with vet.inspectors since long time ago and serve only to appear on TV when even the small seed of truth drops in public, to cover up everything. They stopped being animal welfare organizations , but the public doesn’t know that.
We have all reasons to believe that this , what is happening now in Serbia is extermination of homeless dogs , approved by veterinary directorate, because veterinary inspectors do not want to react, refusing or pretending they act or falsifying the documents as well as public prosecutors to criminal charges pressed by animal welfare organizations. The doors of public utilities, shelters, stay closed.
The situations is only for crying.
